The HydroQuip Double-Barrel Titanium Heater is the premier aftermarket replacement for the leak-prone 'Trumpet/Tri-Bend' style heaters found in many Watkins hot tubs. It combines modern titanium metallurgy with a high-efficiency flow path to deliver superior reliability.
Chemically Indestructible: Unlike original Incoloy elements, the Titanium element is virtually impervious to salt, chlorine, and bromine corrosion. It handles low-pH water better and lasts longer, making it the perfect choice for saltwater systems.
Maximises Efficiency, Minimises Scale: The unique dual-chamber flow path creates water turbulence that 'scrubs' the heating element clean as it operates. This prevents calcium scale buildup (the #1 cause of heater failure) and ensures maximum heat transfer, even at low flow rates.
Leak-Proof Design: Eliminates the complex brazed bends of the original 'Paperclip/Trumpet' style heaters, which were notorious for stress-cracking and leaking over time.
Maintenance Free (PDR Technology): Features modern Power Down Reset (PDR) logic. No more opening the equipment cabinet to find and push a tiny red button if the heater trips, simply cycle the power at the breaker to reset.
Which Model Do You Need?
- Option 1: Model 26-C3182-1S (PDR Enabled)
- Best For: Newer spas, 50Hz Export systems, or PDR upgrades.
- How it Works: This is a Sensor-Driven heater. It uses intelligent thermal sensors to detect water flow electronically, eliminating the need for a physical switch.
- Important Note: If your original heater had a small grey pressure switch cable plugging into the control board, and you choose this modern switch-less version, you must ensure your control board is PDR-compatible (or install a jumper).
- Option 2: Model 26-C3073-1 (Pressure Switch Enabled)
- Best For: Older systems (pre-2002) or direct "Like-for-Like" replacements.
- How it Works: This version includes a Mechanical Pressure Switch integration.
- Why Choose This: Select this model if your spa's control system strictly requires a physical "click" signal from a pressure switch to activate the heater.
